Cable Car

 

    A recent phenomenon in Nepal that has become very popular among locals and tourists alike and that too very quickly is the Cable Car, its no wonder that already songs are written about this...

    The 10 minute Cable Car ride takes the visitor to the temple of Goddess Manakamana who is believed to have the power to grant wishes. Earlier devotees would walk for a whole day to reach the temple.

    The temple of Manakamana lies about 125 km west of Kathmandu. The Cable Car ride starts at Cheres which is about 105 km from Kathmandu on the highway liking Kathmandu to the forests of Chitwan, the Tarai and the lake side city of Pokhara.
