These programmes are quite short in duration but include a wide selection of important sites. They also serve as a foundation for other itineraries which include more time in Lhasa or overland trips to the Nepal border.
The sites include the Jokhang, most sacred and central of all temples in Tibet, its surrounding Barkhor market place, the Potala Palace, winter residence of the Dalai Lamas and nexus of traditional Tibet, the Norbulingka, the park-like summer residence of the Dalai Lamas, the Drepung and Sera monasteries - two of the largest monasteries Tibet.
The itenaries can also be extended to Tsetang on the Yarlung-Tsangpo river junction, Won Valley, and then moving across the Tsangpo river to the fantastic Samya Monastery.
In addition to these places, extensions can be done to visit the high-altitude lake Yamdrok Tso, Shigatse, mountain passes amd much more.
